Day care, home care, meals on wheels and welfare advice for older African Caribbean people in Manchester, Trafford, Salford and Stockport.
Founded in 1983, the African Caribbean Care Group provides culturally appropriate care for older people of African Caribbean heritage in Manchester and surrounding boroughs. From its Claremont Centre in Moss Side it runs a CQC-rated home care service, a day centre with holistic therapies, a luncheon club and delivered meals, plus information and advice on welfare rights, benefits, housing, dementia and carer support. Activities aim to reduce social isolation and celebrate Caribbean heritage. Referrals can come from social workers, GPs or via self-referral.
