Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They help the site remember information about your visit so it works properly.
This site sets no first-party cookies of its own.
We have deliberately built the site so that browsing it does not require any cookies. Our hosting provider (Vercel) and our database provider (Supabase) may set their own technical cookies to deliver the page to you safely — see “Third-party cookies” below — but we do not control or use those for analytics, advertising or tracking.
We use a small number of items of browser local storage — a similar mechanism to a cookie, but stored separately by your browser and never sent to any server.
| Name | Purpose | Expires |
|---|---|---|
| cookie-consent | Remembers whether you have accepted or dismissed the cookie banner so we do not show it on every page. | Until you clear it |
| suggest_ratelimit_… | Set only if you use “Suggest a correction” on a service page; briefly notes when you last submitted so the form is not spammed. Contains a timestamp only. | Until you clear it |
You can clear this entry at any time via your browser’s “clear site data” or developer tools.
We measure how the site is used through Vercel Analytics, which sets no cookies and collects no information that could identify you. It records page views, referrer, device type, browser, and country (country is derived from your IP address; the IP address itself is not stored). We use it to see how the site is used and, especially, where more help is needed. Data is processed by Vercel, our hosting provider, in accordance with their privacy policy.
Separately, on our own server, we keep a few anonymous, cookie-free records so we can improve the directory — which service listings are viewed (and, if you came from a local area page, which area), when someone clicks to call/visit/email a service or get directions, and the words typed into the service search (shortened and anonymous, so we can spot what people want but cannot yet find). These set no cookies and store nothing that identifies you. Our Privacy Policy explains it in full.
Our hosting and database providers may set short-lived technical cookies to keep the service running and to defend it against bots:
We do not use any of these cookies for analytics, advertising or tracking, and we do not have access to their contents.
You can manage or delete any cookies set by your browser through its settings at any time. You can also clear our local-storage entry by using your browser’s “clear site data” option.
If you have any questions about how we use cookies, please contact us.
