Aching Arms is a charity that supports bereaved parents following the loss of a baby during pregnancy, at birth, or shortly afterwards. We provide comfort bears to hospitals and other organisations, enabling midwives and healthcare professionals to offer them as a gift to grieving families in their care. Each bear is a gift from one bereaved family to another, helping parents feel less alone.
Alongside our comfort bears, we provide resources including a book specifically for fathers navigating their grief journey. Every bear also signposts parents to our wider support services. These include monthly virtual support groups for both mums and dads, as well as a support service where parents can call, text, or email to speak with another bereaved parent who has an understanding of their experience.
We also send bears directly to families who request one through our website. We support any bereaved parent, regardless of when the loss occurred, the circumstances, or the stage of pregnancy.
