Age Concern Tyneside South (ACTS) is the main older-peoples charity for South Shields, Jarrow, Hebburn and surrounding areas. From Dora Dixon House it offers information and advice, money and energy advice, will and Lasting Power of Attorney support, home from hospital, home support, a handyperson scheme, falls prevention, dementia services, an in-house gym, digital inclusion and volunteering. The charity also leads Connected Caring South Tyneside, the local carers service.
