Age UK Northumberland is an independent local charity supporting people aged 50+ across the whole county, with around 250 staff and 130 volunteers. From The Round House in Ashington it offers information and advice, advocacy, bereavement support, day care, exercise classes, friendship groups, the weekly Friendship Line, Live Well with Dementia, lunch clubs, scams awareness, veterans support and home care. Services are designed around local rural needs in market towns and isolated villages.
