Community Neighbourhood Link Workers (Be Connected)
Social Connection & Community · Public Service · Newham
Newham Council link workers supporting people experiencing chronic loneliness with practical and social support.
Be Connected is Newham Councils response to chronic loneliness, pairing residents with a Community Neighbourhood Link Worker for up to six weeks of one-to-one support. Together they agree an action plan to rebuild confidence and reconnect with hobbies and people. The team also runs pilots including Chatty Benches, Chatty Cafes and Men in Sheds, and signposts residents to free local activities such as gardening, walking groups, chess and carer support.
