Carers First is the commissioned adult carer support service for Mid and South Essex, covering Brentwood, Basildon, Billericay, Wickford, Braintree, Maldon, Chelmsford, Castle Point and Rochford. The service is free for unpaid carers aged 18 and over. Support includes one-to-one advice, online and phone support, carer support groups, workshops, help with benefits and finances, accessing respite, and navigating health and social care. A Carer Support Adviser will make contact within 5 days of referral. Self-referral, professional referral and referral by family or friends (with consent) all accepted.

Not suitable for: This service is for unpaid carers aged 18 and over who live in Mid or South Essex. If you are under 18, please use a young carers' service. If you live in North or West Essex, please contact Action for Family Carers instead.
