Citizens Advice Peterborough is a registered charity that started life in 1939 and recently marked its 85th year. Around 30 volunteers handle roughly 1,400 incoming calls a month, addressing more than 8,000 advice issues in 2024 and helping local people gain over 2 million in additional income. Free, confidential help on benefits, debts, housing, budgeting and income maximisation is reached via the Adviceline 0808 278 7850, the Help to Claim line 0800 144 8444 and the consumer helpline 0808 223 1133.
