Allotment-based wellbeing charity supporting refugees and asylum seekers across Newcastle and Gateshead.
The Comfrey Project gives refugees and people seeking asylum across Tyneside a safe, welcoming place to grow food, cook, craft and learn together. Members tend two allotments in Newcastles West and East End plus a larger community garden at Windmill Hills in Gateshead. Sessions include a Language and Skills Cafe, CultureHub creative drop-ins and a six-week Grounding Programme focused on nature, confidence and wellbeing. Many people are referred by GPs, housing associations and other refugee support services.
