COMPASS is the Essex-wide single point of access for victims and survivors of domestic abuse across Southend, Essex and Thurrock, funded by Essex County Council, Southend City Council, Thurrock Council and Essex Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner. The service helps women, men and young people aged 16 and over to access specialist support including community-based services and specialist accommodation. Callers speak to a trained staff member who completes an assessment and connects them with the most appropriate support. Also available via an online self-referral form. Delivered by a consortium including Safe Steps, Changing Pathways and The Next Chapter.

Not suitable for: This helpline is for people aged 16 and over who live in Essex, Southend or Thurrock. It is not available to under-16s or to people who live outside these areas.
