Hostel accommodation, resettlement, therapy and employment support for people in Dacorum facing homelessness and social exclusion.
DENS is Dacorums homelessness and anti-poverty charity (registered 1097185), based at Bury Lodge, Queensway, Hemel Hempstead. Last year it provided 3,379 emergency accommodation stays and 4,667 day centre visits with hot meals, showers and one-to-one advice. Services include The Elms 44-bed hostel, Crash Pad cold-weather beds, Move On shared housing, a trauma-informed Therapy Centre and employment support. Social enterprises like the Bike Project and Kitchen Cafe build skills and confidence.
