Derby City Mission is the citys longest-running food bank, started in 1989 as a debt advice service. Their community shop and cafe on Normanton Road works on a self-referral basis: people simply walk in and the team puts together a food parcel, no voucher needed. The mission also runs debt and advice clinics, energy support and help with benefits. In the last year they fed more than 6,000 individuals in Derby.
