Community houses and social prescribing link workers building healthier neighbourhoods across Gateshead.
Edberts House runs four welcoming community houses across the East of Gateshead and Highfield - Edberts, Pattinson, Larkspur and Highfield House - where local people can pop in for a cuppa and join fitness classes, craft sessions, youth clubs, bingo, family events and drop-ins. Their Community Linking Team places Social Prescribing Link Workers in GP practices across Gateshead, helping patients with debt, housing, benefits, loneliness, unemployment and bereavement. A Health Equity Team tackles inequalities in the most deprived neighbourhoods.
