Volunteer-run neighbourhood care charity helping older people in Barnes, Mortlake and East Sheen.
Founded in 1962 as one of the first neighbourhood care groups in the country, FiSH (charity 1147516) supports independence for residents of Barnes, Mortlake and East Sheen in Richmond upon Thames. Over 300 volunteers help more than 500 clients with door-to-door transport, befriending, shopping, outings, walks, concerts, cafes, a community choir and over 400 events each year. The helpline runs Monday to Friday 9am to noon on 020 8876 3414, and would-be volunteers can call 020 8876 3335. Annual membership costs 30 pounds.
