Gateshead Council specialist team offering a 24-hour helpline and recovery support for people affected by domestic abuse.
The Gateshead Domestic Abuse Team is a Council-run specialist service supporting people across the borough who have experienced domestic abuse and their families. The team operates a 24-hour helpline, with workers offering safety planning, advocacy, recovery programmes, and support around trauma bonding, coercive control and the dynamics of abuse. They also run awareness training for professionals and host borough-wide partnership work with Gateshead Health, Citizens Advice and refuge providers. Self-referral is welcomed.
