Trussell-network foodbank with multiple distribution centres across Gateshead, Blaydon and Birtley.
Gateshead Foodbank is part of the Trussell network and operates three distribution centres across the borough - Gateshead Advice Centre on Swan Street, Blaydon Trinity Methodist Church and Birtley Methodist Church. People in food crisis are referred via foodbank vouchers from professionals including GPs, social workers, schools and Citizens Advice. Each parcel contains three days of nutritionally balanced food. The team also signposts visitors to longer-term help with debt, benefits and housing.
