Hackney Foodbank is an independent charity in the Trussell Trust network working towards a hunger-free Hackney where everyone can afford to eat. The team have operated for over a decade and in 2021 alone supported nearly 20,000 client visits with emergency food and household supplies. Distribution centres run across the borough including Stoke Newington, Pembury, Hoxton, Homerton and Clapton; households are referred via a voucher partner such as a GP, school or advice service, and can also access free cookery courses, financial guidance and signposting.
