Independent welfare rights and advice charity helping Harlow residents with benefit claims, appeals and complex casework.
Harlow Welfare Rights and Advice, also known as Harlow Advice Centre, has closed. The independent charity ran for around 50 years after being founded in 1978 and opened by Roy Hattersley, then Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Affairs. It offered benefits advice and representation, housing and debt support, consumer rights, employment advice and welfare rights help, and the service ceased on 31 January due to a lack of funding. Residents now need to seek welfare advice from other Harlow agencies.
