It describes Sexual Assault Referral Centres (SARCs), which give free crisis care, medical and forensic examinations, emergency contraception and emotional support, and shows how to find your nearest one. It also lists other routes to help, including 999 in an emergency, NHS 111, your GP or a sexual health clinic, and 24-hour charity helplines. The guidance is for everyone, whatever their gender or age.

Eligibility: Anyone in England who has experienced rape or sexual assault, at any time and of any gender or age, and people supporting them.
Not suitable for: This is NHS guidance for people in England. If you are in immediate danger or badly hurt, call 999 straight away rather than waiting. People in Scotland, Wales or Northern Ireland should use their own nation's NHS and support services.
