Rural volunteer bureau and community help service for the Hungerford and Lambourn area.
Hungerford and District Volunteer Bureau (operating as CHAIN) is based at Unit 9, 19 High Street, Hungerford RG17 0NL with the office open Monday to Friday 9 to 11am. Volunteer drivers take residents unable to use public transport to doctors, clinics, opticians, dentists, hospitals, day centres and care home visits, including a wheelchair-accessible vehicle. Drivers escort clients to and from their door and stay during the appointment, with users asked for a donation. Contact 01488 683 727. Vital for rural older residents who cannot reach Newbury.
