Living Streets Waltham Forest
Social Connection & Community · Community Group · Waltham Forest
Local Living Streets group running monthly community walks, walking advocacy and Walking for Wellbeing sessions for Waltham Forest residents.
Living Streets Waltham Forest is the boroughs pedestrian advocacy group, led locally by Jon and Simon. They host a monthly community walk that meets on the pedestrianised plaza outside the Town Hall and moves through parks and neighbourhood streets at a deliberately slow pace to encourage conversation and reflection - with particular focus on underrepresented voices and people with limited mobility. The group also lobbies the council on walking and cycling improvements - and recently won the removal of obstructive road signage blocking access for walkers and wheelers.
