Out-of-hours mental health crisis cafe for people in distress, suicidal thoughts or self-harm, open 4pm-11pm every day across West Essex.
The Sanctuary is a community-based crisis alternative run by Mind in West Essex, open 4pm to 11pm every day of the year. Harlow opens daily, Dunmow on Tuesdays, Saffron Walden on Thursdays, Stansted Mountfitchet on Fridays and Epping on Saturdays. Trained listeners help people in emotional distress, anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, self-harm not needing medical attention, or hearing voices. Access is only by referral from NHS 111 Mental Health Support - there is no drop-in. Support is given by phone, text or in person.
