A safe-space crisis service in Colchester and Clacton, open 365 days a year, offering 1-to-1 and group support outside normal working hours for people in emotional distress.
The North East Essex Sanctuary, run by Mid and North East Essex Mind, supports people in Colchester and Tendring as an out-of-hours alternative to A&E for mental health crises. The service is open 10am to 11pm, every day of the year, offering a listening ear and help with anxiety, depression, suicidal thoughts, self-harm, voices and trauma. Group wellbeing events and one-to-one support are available. Call 0300 330 9492 to self-refer.

Eligibility: Adults aged 18+ in north east Essex experiencing a mental health crisis or emotional distress.
Area covered: North East Essex
Not suitable for: The service is for adults aged 18 and over only. Children and young people should contact MHST or YoungMinds. People needing urgent medical care (e.g. after self-harm) should call 999 or go to A&E.
