Pakistani Resource Centre
Social Connection & Community · Charity · Manchester (Heald Green)
Charity supporting South Asian communities in Greater Manchester with welfare, mental health, counselling, learning disability and criminal justice services.
Established in 1966 after community concerns about a lack of culturally appropriate advice, the Pakistani Resource Centre helps Pakistani, Indian and Bangladeshi people across Greater Manchester. Staff speak Urdu, Punjabi, Hindi, Gujarati and Bengali and run drop-in clinics for welfare rights, immigration, debt and housing advice, alongside counselling, mental health support, learning disability advocacy and a domestic violence response. Specialist work covers people in the criminal justice system, carers and elders. Referrals are not always needed; family members, friends or professionals can also make contact on someones behalf.
