Volunteer-run charity providing free meals, clothing and showers to homeless and vulnerable people in Newcastle.
The Peoples Kitchen has served Newcastles homeless and vulnerable community since 1985, providing more than 250 hot meals a day, 365 days a year, from the Alison Centre on Bath Lane. Friends can also access showers, clothing, sleeping bags and toiletries, plus signposting to partners offering drug and alcohol advice, mental health support and housing help. The charity is run entirely by volunteers and welcomes anyone at risk of homelessness, unemployed, lonely or living in poverty without referral.
