RISE (no. 1065846) is an independent Brighton charity founded in 1994 to help people affected by domestic abuse. From its Community Base at 113 Queens Road BN1 3XG, the feminist, women-led team runs a crisis helpline, refuge accommodation, resettlement and crisis appointments, counselling and therapies, housing and legal advice, support groups and play therapy. Dedicated resources cover LGBTQ+ survivors, Black and minoritised communities, young people and parents. Self-referral and professional referral both accepted.

Not suitable for: Refuge service is for women and children only; men are signposted to specialist male DV services.
