Newcastle charity supporting disabled adults, especially people with learning disabilities or autism, to speak up and take control.
Skills for People is a long-established Newcastle charity supporting disabled adults, particularly people with learning disabilities, autism or both, across the North East. They run self-advocacy groups, leadership and rights training, paid peer work opportunities, sexuality and relationships courses and a family carers programme. The Listen Up service offers one-to-one advocacy on health, housing and care issues. Members shape every part of the charity and the team also provide training to professionals and commissioners on co-production.
