Slough Hindu Mandir, opened in 1981, was the first purpose built Hindu temple in the British Isles. The temple opens daily from 8am to 8pm, with longer hours during religious festivals, and Brahmin priests lead morning and evening arati ceremonies and distribute prashad to worshippers and people in need. The mandir also runs community welfare projects, charity walks supporting Slough Outreach, Slough Samaritans and dementia charities, and is fundraising for renovation. Call 01753 790135.
