Sunderland Foodbank is part of the Trussell network and opened in 2018. It provides three days of nutritionally balanced emergency food and signposting to local people in crisis. Vouchers are issued by local agencies such as GPs, social prescribers, schools, housing teams and advice charities. The foodbank gave emergency food to 10,210 people during 2025. Call the foodbank to be put in touch with a referral agency.
