Sight loss charity supporting blind and partially sighted people across County Durham.
Sunderland and County Durham Royal Society for the Blind (formed 1877) is an independent charity supporting anyone with sight loss across the area. Services include a resource centre with specialist equipment, computing and assistive technology mentoring, Living with Sight Loss courses and local social groups. A new Consett Social Group started in April 2026. Membership is open to anyone registered as sight impaired or severely sight impaired.
